I think you made the right choice keeping the "B" unit, I hope this doesn't turn into another discussion about their ethics. I recently bought a DI 100 for the church 'cuz we needed another DI for the Christmas musical. I put it on the feed for the electro-acoustic g******* and the difference in sound quality was night and day. That instrument had also been going through a passive Whirlwind DI. I'm thinking that the input impedance has a lot to do with it, the "B" box having a 250K while the "W" has a 20K. For $30, it's a great not so little box. I'll probably buy more.
