[MUSIC] In the Player...

Posted by: weeks <weeks@...>

I have a friend here at work who is the most avid music collecter I have
ever met...he's not a Christian, but his wife is, so he has a LOT of
Christian stuff as well as secular stuff. At last count he said he had
almost 30,000 CD's and over 24,000 pieces of vinyl. So when bored, I
always go to him for new music and he gives me something to listen to.
We talk a lot about music because we both have a wealth of knowledge, but
he can tell you what bizzare stuff, like what the bass player's name was
in John Mayall's first band in high school and who he's played with since
then. Drives me nuts, but it's fascinating.

So, anyway...to my point. Ted, my friend, is Greek and he has been
bringing me some European jazz lately. Yesterday he made a copy of a CD
called "Bossa Per Due" by Nicola Conte. DANG! This is seriously great
stuff. It's labeled as "Acid Jazz", but it's 60's bossa nova...great
stuff. A lady I worked with just came in, sat down and asked me where
the martinis were...heh.

I HIGHLY recommend this stuff!

"I will always remember the day Rene Descartes died.  We had just
finished a wonderful meal and were sitting around plotting our next move
over coffee.  The waitress came up and asked, "More Coffee?"  Descartes
replied, "I think not."   And just disappeared right before my eyes."
