Do you normally have to raise string height and increase neck relief to play
with a pick without getting fret buzz?
I was just wondering because I had to do this to my G&L L-2500 to get a
clean sound when using a pick. When I got the bass the action was set very
low and worked fine playing finger style. Which is what I do except for
Third Day songs. The buzz was definitely coming from the adjacent fret.
There are no humps on the neck or anything like that. I'm so amazed at this
bass. Being able to play it passive & soloing the neck pickup in series mode
for a smooth P bass sound on one song and then switch to both pickups in
parallel mode, active w/ treble boost, playing with a pick for a stingray
over the top sound the next song. I LOVE IT! I'm hoping you guys think it's
normal to raise the strings to use a pick, otherwise there are neck issues I
don't understand or my technique stinks! 🙂
