Some persons think they can know God by means of their own human reason. But reason is a blind ally spiritually. It has always been the great minds exercising their powers apart from the Word of God who have produced the great heresies. Some think they can discover God by listening to a so-called “inner voice.” But the voice is often nothing more than an expression of their own inner desires. Quite a few think that spiritual truths can be verified by supernatural events or miracles. But the Bible everywhere teaches that even miracles will not lead men and women to understand and receive God's truth unless they themselves are illuminated by the Bible (see Luke 16:31). I believe that we can state categorically that there is no knowledge apart from Jesus Christ and that there is no knowledge of Jesus Christ apart from a knowledge of the Bible.

[GEAR] six string question

I posted this a week or so ago but it never showed up in the list so I'm trying again. To all you six stringers out there I have a question. I'm in the process of buying a Johnson Catalyst six and the guy I'm buying it from let me take it with me to Worship Team practice last night. First off the tone was amazing. I've been looking for a tone similar to the bass registers on a piano for years, and this bass has that tonal quality. But there's a bit of a problem. The strings feel really tight. WAY tighter than my Tobias four string. I have no problems using vibrato or bending a string on the Tobias, but on the Johnson I can barely get any vibrato and forget about bending. I had this same problem on my Tobias when I accidently bought some flat wounds a while back. Seems like the tension was a LOT tighter than normal, so I got a set of round wounds and that fixed the problem. So here's my question......is this tightness a function of strings, setup, or what? Will it be maybe a bit less tight with another set of strings? Does it need a setup? I'm almost afraid to fool with it as the B string has GREAT tonal definition & quality right now. I'm afraid if I loosen anything up the B string will start flopping around like a piece of clothesline and lose the great definition it has now. Any suggestions?? This thing also seems to be a bit neck heavy. The headstock is constantly wanting to droop, but that I can live with. Otherwise it's a kickin' axe and I really like it.
