Brethren,
I need some help with a message from you. Our church has had two deaths this week and one was an elderly gentleman whom we knew would pass and was not able to attend regularly for several months. The other was a precious lady 56 years old who was a very faithful and godly lady. She was a vital part of our church and choir; a great inspiration to many. She went in the hospital Monday for a heart cath and a stint and consequently died yesterday! It was a total shock to us all!
Also, I will have to announce this Sunday morning the move of two more members of our church (husband and wife), which happen to be leaders in our church. They are moving due to a transfer to another state.
I plan to preach this Sunday morning on "The God of All Comfort" (2 Cor. 1), but I would like to have something on Sunday evening that will deal with loss, grief, change, etc.
I wish to comfort and encourage our congregation during these awful, sad times of loss and adjustment. Any suggestions would be appreciated and please help us pray for these families and our entire church. We are going through some "rapids" right now on our journey on the river of life.
