                                                                                   CHRISTMAS

                                                                  2006

John 8:12 - …I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Dear Friends and Family,

Jesus is indeed “the light of the world”.  We have found Jesus to be the light that gives us salvation through faith in the shedding of His blood for our sins. Also, we have found Him to be the light that illumines us during dark hours and guides us as we make decisions, looking to Him for help.  Jesus is also the true “light at the end of the tunnel” that gives us the sure hope of eternal life.  It is our prayer that your faith is in Jesus, “the light of the world.”

For Dottie the big highlight of the year was turning 60 and getting an invitation in the mail to her own party.  We celebrated the day after Thanksgiving with all the kids, some family, and our church family gathering for an open house in her honor.  The rest of the year Dottie kept busy directing Daily Vacation Bible School, wrapping over 150 shoe boxes for “Operation Christmas Child”, reading, scrapbooking, keeping house, and visiting with Jack on some of his pastoral rounds.

I continue to enjoy pastoring at Mount Union Bible Church where we have been for almost 9 years.  I also serve as one of a dozen or so volunteer chaplains at our local hospital.  My health has been good, and I have added another web-site to my internet ministry.  Please visit http://www.expositoryechoes.com.

David and Carletta purchased a house in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania this fall.  He is teaching Bible at Grace Christian Academy in Hagerstown, Maryland.  He is still interested in a full time pastoral position.  Carletta is a stay at home Mom seeing to the family needs of all five children.  The oldest two attend school where David teaches. We miss them being close by.

Tim and Donna continue to live in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  Tim enjoys his new job working on security systems.  Donna continues to baby-sit at home, and Noah has friends to play with each week day.  Donna also makes quilts and crafts and bakes for others as often as she is able.  Tim is still active as a worship leader in their church and Donna is a Sunday School Teacher. They are active in a small group.

Mark and Candace went to Poland this year for a combination work and vacation trip.   Candace is still working as a part-time church organist, although she has moved on to a different church.  Mark is currently serving as chairman of the music department at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois.  Candace is expecting our 10th grandchild in April or May.

We appreciate you and wish you and yours a blessed Christmas and a happy New Year.

With love,

Jack and Dottie Peters
