MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM JACK AT SERMON SEEDS

                                               December, 2005

                                               Dear Friends and Loved Ones,

We bring you greetings for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  It is

our prayer that the child born on that “holy night” has impacted your life,

and that you know Him personally as your Savior. Please heed the

message of the angel who said in Luke 2:11, For unto you is born this day in

the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

We spent the year getting to know our Pittsburgh Veterans hospital in a more intimate way.  I (Jack) had some complications after surgery last December and it took them most of this year to rule out any heart or lung problems.  I also have some slight problems on the left side of the face that have caused a few other visits.  In spite of this I am feeling well, have lost 20 pounds, and work out at the gym.

Meanwhile, Dottie and I are busy ministering to the nice folks at Mount Union Bible Church.  This has been a busy year in the church with many activities, blessings, and sorrows.  Dottie is active taking her turn in Junior Church, serving as an officer in the ladies missionary circle, singing in the choir, and arranging for special music.  On the home front, Dottie enjoys two great hobbies, scrapbooking and spending time with the grandchildren whenever she can.

As for the family, son David is still looking for a church to pastor.  In the meantime he has driven a van delivering people to appointments and has prepared taxes for Jackson-Hewitt in order to help ends meet.  He and Carletta are renting a home in Kittanning, active in the Harvest Community Church, and living close enough so Grandma and Grandpa Peters can baby-sit and spend time with Nicole (8), Ty (6), Matt (4), Becca (3), and Charissa (2).

Mark and Candace have bought a home in Blue Island, Illinois and are busy raising Jared (4), Elyssa (2), and Josiah (1).  Candace plays the organ for a local church.  Mark is in his second year on the faculty of Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois.  Mark’s big professional news this year is that he has a book contract to publish a book based on his doctoral thesis.

Donna and Tim are still in Harrisburg, PA.  Tim is once again on the worship team in his church and is working for a company that installs security systems.  Besides being active in church, Donna is busy baby-sitting children at home, making quilts, and baking for anyone who wants to buy homemade goodies.  Noah (2) is growing like a weed, walking everywhere, and building his vocabulary.

We did enjoy some traveling this year.  We made three trips to Illinois to see Mark and Candace.  Of course, we also went to see Noah and his parents in Harrisburg.  There was a small Peters family reunion at “Aunt Dot’s” in New Jersey (Jack’s parents’ home was sold in January).  Our big vacation trip was several days at a friend’s cabin in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina and visiting them and other friends in Georgia.

May God richly bless you and yours in the coming year.

Love,

Jack and Dottie Peters
