So, how long have you been playing bass? For me, I realised one day after
I'd been playing for maybe 10-12 years (is that slow, or average, or
quick?) that things just 'clicked' & I began playing pretty much what
jumped into my head. I mean, I've always sung or hummed musical parts -
traditionally bass parts to songs, but also tenor (my Dad is a fine tenor)
- & after I picked up the bass in high school I'd often imagine bass lines
but could never get my fingers to comply. So, that 10-12 year mark in the
sand was, for me, when those riffs in the head began just comin' out of my
amp.
