{PRAISE} To Hell and Back!

Since last December, when I had some emergency surgery, we have been
fighting with our insurance company to cover it. They sent us the entire
bill for the surgery, which you can imagine was huge and refused to pay
any of it.
Knowing that most insurance companies suck and refuse the first
submission for payment, we kept trying. No matter what we tried, they
wouldn't pay it. We got the doctor's office involved and they tried for
months to no avail.
FINALLY, the insurance company said that since the surgery wasn't done by
my primary doctor and we used a specialist that the specialist would have
to write a letter explaining why he had to do that. So we called the
doctor's office and the secretary said she'd get him to do it.
A month went by and she finally said he'd refused to do this (this was
last Friday) because "anyone could have done the surgery", which I
thought was bunk (why have a specialist then?). It really made me mad
and ruined my weekend (we're talking a lot of money here).
Well, Marti called the doctor yesterday and left a message and today he
called her back. He hadn't even been informed of the whole thing and
said he'd be glad to write a letter.
Now, who knows if the insurance company will make me jump through more
hoops but at least now I know my doctor is on my side.
