QUICK UPDATE on Germany trip

Posted by: lifeunlimited <lifeunlimited@...>

Dear Friends:

No frills, and no pictures . . . not even an issue number.  Just a couple of prayer requests:

Pray For Deanna:  Our youngest daughter, Deanna, will have breast cancer surgery Thursday where the surgeon will remove more tissue and adjacent lymph node/s.  They will run tests to see if chemo is necessary, but she will also undergo radiation soon after Thursday's surgery.

Pray for Cindy and Family:  Today Kevin flies to Medellin, Colombia, to supervise the video taping of a major Christian musical festival this week-end.  Cindy and Christopher drive to our house in Collins and then on to Springfield for the Centennial celebration of the founding of the Assemblies of God denomination.  Pray for safety and success.

Pray for Us:  We have had two exceptional planning sessions with our friend and "Timothy", "F", as to our schedule for the two months we are with him here in Giessen.  It looks like a full and exciting agenda.  Since we can't send a letter every week or day, we've included the probable agenda.  Things that are not yet fully confirmed or will be scheduled as needed are in parentheses.

In a nutshell, we will be teaching the Bible every Sunday, Jo Ann will teach and demonstrate a short children's story at the beginning of each Sunday session, we will travel most Wednesdays to other towns to meet with families, we will minister each Thursday evening at Cafe' Hope, we will meet several times with young men simply to visit and answer questions, and we will conduct at least five Friday/Saturday (and perhaps more) training retreats on discipleship and leadership development.  Mondays and Tuesdays are generally kept clear because "F" is working on a major project at the university in Marburg and we can't do much without him as our guide and translator.

Here's what the weekly schedule looks like at the moment, provided so you can do some specific praying at the appropriate time.  You will notice that we do not have activities scheduled every day simply because we need preparation time, a little rest, and we will spend much time with "F" and others on a personal level.  Also, other things posted at the end have not yet been scheduled.  Keep in mind that Giessen is seven hours ahead of CDT in the States.  12:15 PM Sunday here is 5:15 AM Sunday, 6:30 PM Thursday here is 11:30 AM CDT in America.
