R.A.T. in the White House

Posted by: <@...>

Two of America's presidents in the 1960s, John F. Kennedy and Lyndon
Baines Johnson, were popularly known by their three-letter initials:
J.F.K. and L.B.J. Now just imagine if Ohio Senator Robert A. Taft, who
was edged out for the Republican presidential nomination by Dwight D.
Eisenhower in 1952, had made it to the Oval Office. There would have
been a R.A.T. in the White House.

There are many phobias. They include apiphobia (fear of bees), belonephobia
(fear of sharp, pointed objects), and latrophobia (fear of doctors). Where I
come from we don't need fancy Latin-like words for these. We describe all of
those as "common sense."
