Re: Word for Today, Tue, 16 Apr 2002: I Need Instruction!

Posted by: marku <marku@...>

Brian, my friend, in my opinion, you are RIGHT ON TARGET
with your assessment of this one...especially about you do
one thing right and the next thing you know satan is on
the attack and then, WHAM! you stumble! At least, that
is true for me. So, I praise God for the attacks. I even
praise Him for the stumbles, because THAT MEANS GOD IS
WORKING IN ME and I must be doing at least a few things
right! Satan does not bother with those who are "do
nothings" for the Lord. As long as he is on the attack,
and the more fierce the attack, the more I rejoice in God.

By the way, here I thought which recently came to me,
based on the following scripture:

Ps 56:4 - In God I will praise his word, in God I have put
my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Ps 22:3
But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of
Israel.

1Jo 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love
casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that
feareth is not made perfect in love.

1Jo 4:7 - Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of
God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth
God.

1Jo 4:8 - He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is
love.

2Ti 1:7 - For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;
but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

satan is the accuser, the liar and deceiver...his object
is to cause FEAR in the mind of the believer...So the
passages above have importance to what follows.

I was reading about prayer the other day...(I think a Dick
Eastman book..but I'm not sure, I read so many!), and he
said something about the different types/ways of prayer,
and that of course we need to include praise. And that
not only do we need to include praise, but we need to
BEGIN our prayer with praise. The reason is two-fold....
First, God inhabits the praises of his people. (Well, we
all knew that, right? So what?) Here is the second part:
satan CANNOT LONG ABIDE THE PRESENCE OF GOD. So, we
praise, God inhabits, satan FLEES! Now, I knew this as
well, right, although never in so many words...but the
thought I have to share is this....

If I carry that one step higher, it makes it clear as to
why we are to praise God in all circumstances, at all
times and in all places...because no matter what the
situation, by praising God we are in His presence....and
satan flees. Therefore, when I begin to feel the fiery
darts of satans attacks; the doubts, the fears, the
depression, the lies...If I simply being praising the
Lord, satan RUNS! I have been doing this very thing for
about a month, and IT WORKS! I'm not saying it's a
"formula"...it has to be sincere, heartfelt praise....but
there is definitely something to it! I'm sure most mature
Christians know this already, but sometimes God has to hit
me over the head with a spiritual 2x4 on some of the most
OBVIOUS things!

Just my thoughts.

Gracie
