Ok guys, I'm going to display a lot of ignorance in one place, so put on
your seatbelts 😉
I'm one of those types that Donl has so eloquently expounded on that knows
what I like in a sound, but I haven't a clue about the nuts and bolts of
how it gets there.
I'll only bore you with one question (I'll save the rest for later - I can
only take so much of this technical stuff before my eyes start glazing
over). What would be the main difference between say, a 12" speaker on a
skinny-string "guitar" amp, and a 12" speaker on a "bass" amp?
I realize that the frequency handling in the electronics would be different
(see, I do pay some attention!), but what would the physical differences in
the speakers be? Would it be a matter of excursion (ooooh - a big word
that I learned here!) distance of the cone, or what?
Go ahead - educate me!
