It's not just tough - it's pretty near impossible! Among
other things, you'd need to examine how good the
frequency response of your mic is - otherwise you might
turn up the bass so it sounds good on the recording but it
will be too loud for a person sitting in the same location.

My recording technique gets a lot of bass and drums and
the vocals are always too quiet, but they serve my
purpose of feeding back to my practise time. I have to
trust the sound in the main body of the venue to the
sound guy.

One solution would be to have two recordings - a middle
of the room one AND one near your amp. That might be
easier than trying get one recording to fit several divergent
requirements (although that won't work so well if you're
ampless).

Here's another thought. If you're essentially going direct
into the board with no on stage amplification, why not
play at the sound desk? It's a far from ideal solution but if
you've got no onstage sound to play with and you're still
devoting some of your brain to considering your overall
sound, it might be better to work from the back (and use
whatever midrange control is on the mixer to support the
EQ on the SansAmp).
