I think one of the lightest production basses right now is the Fender Aerodyne, and it looks GREAT! It is a Jazz Bass that is all gloss black, with cream binding, and an ebony board. Then it has no inlays a black chrome hardware. The pickups are P-J and the body is radiused to match the fingerboard.
It sounds great, feels great, and weighs in at like 7 pounds!!! That is close to my Turner Amplicoustic. Too bad I didn't need another 4 string! 🙂
