Word for Today CHRISTMAS PRAYER REQUEST SUPPLEMENT

At this time of the year, as always, there are many people in need.
The things that affect us are often even more intense when they
happen during a holiday season. So I would like to ask you to join me
in prayer for those on the Sowing Seeds Ministry prayer request list
that Larry Davies has put together for his prayer partners.
I believe that when we pray for one another, we share in the love that
God has provided. It is His gracious gift to us that we may share in
His work of healing and reconciliation. So it is not only to the benefit
of those we pray for, it is for our own benefit as well, and for the
glory of God that we join together in prayer.
The apostle James reminds us that the prayers of the righteous one are
powerful and effective. Since our righteousness comes directly from
Jesus Christ, our prayers are indeed powerful and effective when we seek
Him with our entire being, recognizing our own deep need. May each of
you receive your own blessing as you pray for others in need, even those
we do not know.

Subject: Sowing Seeds Prayer Ministry Around the World -- December 22, 2000
You will find today's prayer needs a little unusual. There are
several thank you's and updates. There is a great letter telling
what one church did for a family in need. Then you will read a
letter from somewhere in India from a man who is being persecuted
for his faith. If you are not in tears after reading his horrible
story I will be surprised. There are two letters from desperate
folks on the edge. There is also one from someone trying to
publish a Christian book. Please read these needs carefully and
pray thoughtfully. They need our response. If you feel led,
please send them a letter. I have received so many thank you's
from people who were bombarded with love. You are doing so much
good. The poem below was sent from one of our prayer team
members. It's not a Christmas poem but in a way it is. The title
says it all... Wait!
At Sowing Seeds Ministry... We wish you all a Christ-filled

Wait!
Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried: Quietly, patiently,
lovingly God replied. I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate,
And the Master so gently said, "Child, you must wait."
"Wait? You say, wait! " my indignant reply. "Lord, I need
answers, I need to know why! Is your hand shortened? Or have you
not heard? By Faith, I have asked, and am claiming your Word.
My future and all to which I can relate hangs in the balance, and
YOU tell me to WAIT? I'm needing a 'yes', a go-ahead sign, or
even a 'no' to which I can resign.
And Lord, You promised that if we believe we need but to ask, and
we shall receive. And Lord, I've been asking, and this is my
cry: I'm weary of asking! I need a reply!
Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate As my Master replied
once again, "You must wait." So, I slumped in my chair, defeated
and taut and grumbled to God, "So, I'm waiting.... for what?"
He seemed, then, to kneel, and His eyes wept with mine, And he
tenderly said, "I could give you a sign. I could shake the
heavens, and darken the sun. I could raise the dead, and cause
mountains to run.
All you seek, I could give, and pleased you would be. You would
have what you want~~But, you wouldn't know Me. You'd not know
the depth of My love for each saint; You'd not know the power
that I give to the faint; You'd not learn to see through the
clouds of despair; You'd not learn to trust just by knowing I'm
there;
You'd not know the joy of resting in Me When darkness and silence
were all you could see. You'd never experience that fullness of
love As the peace of My Spirit descends like a dove; You'd know
that I give and I save.... (for a start), But you'd not know the
depth of the beat of My heart.
The glow of My comfort late into the night, The faith that I give
when you walk without sight, The depth that's beyond getting just
what you asked Of an infinite God, who makes what you have LAST.
You'd never know, should your pain quickly flee, What it means
that "My grace is sufficient for Thee." Yes, your dreams for your
loved one overnight would come true, But, Oh, the Loss! If I lost
what I'm doing in you!
So, be silent, My Child, and in time you will see That the
greatest of gifts is to get to know Me. And though oft' may My
answers seem terribly late, My most precious answer of all is
still, "WAIT."

Subject: The churches love @ X-MAS time
The story starts with a mother of two living in Ohio and her
husband of 16 years leaves them one week before X-MAS.Devistated,
her sister living here in GA., convinces them to come down and
stay here. Getting here 3 days before X-MAS, the sister rents
them out a house to stay in. Being invited to the X-MAS musical
at her church the mother and kids agreed to attend. The music was
nice, the acting was amusing, but needless to say this was not a
joyous time for that family. after the event the mother and kids
arrived at their rented home to find that while they were at the
musical, 8 families were at their house putting their beds
together, filling their refrigerator, and their pantry with food,
they put up a X-MAS tree and placed several presents under it.
And when they saw this they over come with a sense of love during
a time when they felt deserted. Mysteriously for two weeks every
morning food would appear on their front steps. Shortly after
X-MAS the church family helped her find a job. The mother says
"That X-MAS 10 years ago was our hardest X-MAS ever, but it was
also our best ever.

healing from the severe pain I have in my right leg. I was hit by
a car 28 years ago and it left me with nerve damage that hurts me
