Dear friends,

How do you find meaning in your life? I think that this Quiet
Walk Devotional asks some good questions. One question I have
for you - do you believe what the Bible says? I encourage you to
read each of the passages mentioned in today's message, think
about them, and talk about them with God.

BIBLE READING
Genesis 2:18-20

OVERVIEW

God intends for us to work creatively.

INSIGHT

We can find meaning in our work not only because work has
inherent meaning to God but also because our work extends
His original creation. God created trees, but He did not
create cabinetswe create cabinets. God created rubber,
but we create tires. God created electricity, but we
create toasters and computers.

There is a grand scheme in the continuation of culture.
God intended cabinets and computers to be a part of that
cultural advancement. In this sense we co-create with God
and extend His original creation which is pleasing to God
and gives meaning to what we do.

PRAYER

* Creativity makes our world interesting, and so we praise Him:

Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; Praise
Him in the heights! Praise Him, all His angels; Praise
Him, all His hosts! Praise Him, sun and moon; Praise Him,
all you stars of light! . . . Let them praise the name of
the Lord, For He commanded and they were created (Psalm
148:1-3,5).

* Now pray this confession to the Lord as you seek to keep your
life in fellowship

with Him: You were once darkness, but now you are light
in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of
the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth),
finding out what is acceptable to the Lord (Ephesians
5:8-10).

* Confess any sins that the Holy Spirit brings to your mind. As
you agree with God's will, voice your affirmation of His
Word:

Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes, And I shall
keep it to the end. Give me understanding, and I shall
keep Your law; Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole
heart (Psalm 119:33-34).

* As you make your requests known to the Lord, pray for:

* greater creativity in your work today,

* enjoyment of the surrounding beauty,

* the needs of your friends.

* Now close with this thought:

Do not forget to do good and to share, for with such
sacrifices God is well pleased (Hebrews 13:16).
