Word for Today, Fri, 8 Sep 2000: What Do You Do When You Are Accused?

Posted by: masinick <masinick@...>

Dear friends,

As another week comes to a close, consider this short, yet vital
message. It isn't fun to be accused, is it? Especially when we
are wrongly accused, we feel violated, angered, enraged, and a
multiplicity of other emotions. To be sure, it is wrong to be
wrongly accused.

I have been on several sides of this issue. I have wrongly accused
others, I have been wrongly accused, I have responded in rage to
false accusations, and I have taken accusations peacefully. What
did Jesus do? He allowed Himself to not only be falsely accused,
He also allowed Himself to be tortured and murdered, knowing that
God would raise Him up, glorify Him, and fully vindicate Him.

I have learned that God is my advocate, and Jesus Christ Himself
has offered His own life to advocate my cause! The same is true
for each of us. The question then becomes, "What are we going to
do about it?"

Will we accept His full and complete pardon for things we DO deserve,
or will we choose some other path? For me, the answer is clear.
My prayer is that the answer is clear for each one of you. May God
continue to bless each of Your lives and draw you ever closer to Him.

Brother Brian
