Word for Today, Mon, 16 Oct 2000: Important Distinctions

Posted by: masinick <masinick@...>

Dear friends,

I think that my church is a great place to worship God, and to
encourage people, as they encourage me, too. But even all these
seemingly good things are no substitute for a personal relationship
with God.

Our pastor's sermon this past weekend mentioned the important
difference from our faith being private versus personal. He
made the very important point that our faith is a personal one,
but it is not intended to be a private one. The intention of
faith, and worship, is that each one of us have a personal
relationship with God, and share what that relationship has
done for us. That is what I try to do in these messages.
To me, it is a small part of what I am called to do. The big
part is to seek God humbly, be kind and forgiving to others,
recognizing the great love God has for me and the huge price
He paid to demonstrate that love me and each one of us.

I encourage you to think about these things today and the
message that follows.

Brother Brian
