Dear friends,
Today's devotional message comes from a recent Email that was
forwarded to me concerning scriptures about severe storms. This
week, or at any time when the storms in our life rage, these are
great scriptures to keep by our side.

SCRIPTURES TO PRAY CONCERNING IVAN
==================================
The following are scriptures that you can use to pray regarding
Hurricane Ivan. They are divided by topics: (1) Raging Sea, (2)
Storm; Storms, (3) Waves, (4) Whirlwind, (5) Wind, (6) Winds.
Remember - HIS WORD does NOT go forth and return void!
Here are the scriptures to use in prayer:

(1) RAGING SEA
=============
Ps 89:9 - You rule the raging of the sea; When its waves rise,
You still them.

(2) STORM; STORMS
==================
Job 26:12 - He stirs up the sea with His power, And by His
understanding He breaks up the storm.
Ps 107:29 - He calms the storm, So that its waves are still.
Isa 4:6 - And there will be a tabernacle for shade in the daytime
from the heat, for a place of refuge, and for a shelter from
storm and rain.
Isa 25:4 - For You have been a strength to the poor, A strength
to the needy in his distress, A refuge from the storm, A shade
from the heat; For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm
against the wall.
Na 1:3 - The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, And will
not at all acquit the wicked. The Lord has His way In the
whirlwind and in the storm, And the clouds are the dust of His
feet.

(3) WAVES
=========
Job 38:8-11: (8) "Or who shut in the sea with doors, When it
burst forth and issued from the womb; (9) When I made the clouds
its garment, And thick darkness its swaddling band; (10) When I
fixed My limit for it, And set bars and doors; (11) When I said,
'This far you may come, but no farther, And here your proud waves
must stop!'
Ps 65:7 - You who still the noise of the seas, The noise of their
waves, And the tumult of the peoples.
Ps 89:9 - You rule the raging of the sea; When its waves rise,
You still them Ps 89:9 - You rule the raging of the sea; When its
waves rise, You still them. Ps 93:4 - The Lord on high is
mightier Than the noise of many waters, Than the mighty waves of
the sea. Ps 107:25 - For He commands and raises the stormy
wind, Which lifts up the waves of the sea.
Ps 107:29 - He calms the storm, So that its waves are still.
Jer 5:22 - Do you not fear Me?' says the Lord. 'Will you not
tremble at My presence, Who have placed the sand as the bound of
the sea, By a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass beyond it?
And though its waves toss to and fro, Yet they cannot prevail;
Though they roar, yet they cannot pass over it.

(4) WHIRLWIND

Job 40:6 - The Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind
Ps 77:18 - The voice of Your thunder was in the whirlwind; The
lightnings lit up the world; The earth trembled and shook.

(5) WIND

2Sa 22:11 - He rode upon a cherub, and flew; And He was seen upon
the wings of the wind.
Mt 14:32 - And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
Mr 4:39 - Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the
sea, "Peace, be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great
calm.
Mr 4:41 - And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another,
"Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!"
Mr 6:51 - Then He went up into the boat to them, and the wind
ceased. And they were greatly amazed in themselves beyond
measure, and marveled.
Lu 8:24 - And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, "Master,
Master, we are perishing!" Then He arose and rebuked the wind and
the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm.

(6) WINDS
=========
Mt 7:25 - and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds
blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was
founded on the rock.
Mt 8:26 - But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of
little faith?" Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea,
and there was a great calm.
Mt 8:27 - So the men marveled, saying, "Who can this be, that
even the winds and the sea obey Him?"
Lu 8:25 - But He said to them, "Where is your faith?" And they
were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, "Who can this
be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!"
Re 7:1 - After these things I saw four angels standing at the
four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth,
that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any
tree.
