How Adam and Eve saw themselves

Genesis 3:8 notes that the Lord walked in the garden of Eden in the cool of the day. He walked right near where Adam and Eve were – it must have been common for them to walk together and talk.
In Exodus 29, Moses came down from Mount Sinai. As he came down from the mountain with the two tablets of the covenant in his hand, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God.
Conclusion: Men who talk with God have His glory on their face – they shine!
2 Corinthians 3:13 says that “We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory fading away.”
Conclusion: When we are separated from God, the shining light of his glory leaves us, and all we see is ourself.
Genesis 3:6 When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make {one} wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings.
How were they naked? They were no longer “clothed” with the glory of God. For the first time since their creation, they saw what was under the brilliant glory of God that had shone from them, because that “light”had been turned off by their own choice.
This simple lesson illustrates how sin stops the glory of God from shining in our lives. Personally, I crave the day when I can walk and talk with God as he originally intended.
