HUMILITY

JOB 22:29 When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.

PSA 9:12 When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.

PSA 10:17 LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

PSA 22:26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.

PSA 25:9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

PSA 37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

PSA 69:32 The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.

PSA 86:1 Bow down thine ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor and needy.

PSA 131:1 LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.

PSA 138:6 Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.

PSA 147:6 The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

PSA 149:4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

PRO 3:34 Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.

PRO 10:8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.

PRO 11:2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

PRO 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

PRO 16:19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

PRO 18:12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.

PRO 22:4 By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.

PRO 27:2 Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.

PRO 29:23 A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

PRO 30:32 If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.

ECC 5:2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

ISA 29:19 The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

ISA 51:1 Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.

ISA 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

ISA 66:2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

JER 45:5 And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.

EZE 16:63 That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord GOD.

MIC 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

MAT 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

MAT 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

MAT 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

MAT 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

MAT 20:26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

MAT 23:12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

LUK 1:52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.

LUK 6:20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

LUK 10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

LUK 14:10 But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.

LUK 17:10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

LUK 18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

LUK 18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

LUK 22:26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.

LUK 22:27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.

JOH 13:14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.

ROM 11:20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

ROM 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

ROM 12:10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

ROM 12:16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

1CO 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

1CO 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

1CO 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

1CO 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

2CO 11:30 If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.

2CO 12:6 For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.

2CO 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

GAL 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

GAL 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

EPH 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

EPH 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

PHI 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

PHI 2:4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

PHI 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

PHI 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

PHI 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

PHI 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

PHI 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

PHI 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

PHI 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

COL 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

JAM 1:9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

JAM 3:1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

JAM 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

1PE 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

1PE 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
