Queen Of Heaven

QUEEN OF HEAVEN

BASIC R.C. BELIEF When Pius XII defined the Assumption of Mary Nov. 1, 1950, it was stated that she went, body and soul, to Heaven, where she was crowned. In Roman Catholic thought and theology, she is revered as Queen of Heaven.

CHRISTIAN COMMENT The Queen of Heaven is the name for the female deity often pictured with a baby at her breast. In Jeremiah 44:17 we read of the backslidden Jews burning incense and pouring out drink offerings to the Queen of Heaven. This was an abomination (vs. 22).

When uncoverted pagans were welcomed into the degenerate church from around the 4th century, they brought with them this concept of female deity, and this was “Christianized” and became the cult of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
