The ultimate purpose of all preaching is to lead the listener to a whole-person encounter with the truth of God. His mind should understand the truth, his heart should be stirred to feel the claim of that truth, and his will should be moved to respond to that truth. This whole-person encounter with the truth of God is, finally, the means to a further end – an encounter with the God of truth Himself.

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 c Sifted flour
1 tb Sugar
2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Baking soda
1 1/2 c Buttermilk
3 Eggs; separated
1/2 c Butter; melted

INSTRUCTIONS

This is our family's favorite recipe for Belgian waffles.  Sift dry
ingredients together.  Beat egg yolks and buttermilk.  Add dry ingredients
alternating with melted butter cooled to room temperature.  Stir until
batter is smooth and free from lumps. In separate bowl, beat egg whites
until stiff, and fold into batter. Bake.
