Ingredients: 1 tb Unflavored gelatin; 1/2 c Cold water; 1 c Condensed sonsomme; 1/2 lb (1 cup) braunschweiger; 3 tb Mayonnaise; 1 tb Vinegar; 1 tb Minced onion

God has given each of us a conscience, a moral compass within our hearts, bearing witness to His Law. In sinful or self-righteous people (that is, people whose dominant characteristics are either obvious sin or obvious self-righteousness) the conscience is to some degree “hardened.” That is, it is relatively insensitive to sin or its own self-righteousness. But in a growing Christian the conscience becomes more and more sensitive to violations of God’s Law. As a result, our consciences continually indict us, accusing us of not only particular sins, but, more important, of our overall sinfulness. We recognize more and more that specific acts of sin are simply the expressions of our still-wicked hearts.

INGREDIENTS

1	tb	Unflavored gelatin
1/2	c	Cold water
1	c	Condensed sonsomme
1/2	lb	(1 cup) braunschweiger
3	tb	Mayonnaise
1	tb	Vinegar
1	tb	Minced onion

INSTRUCTIONS

Soften gelatin in cold water. Heat consomme to boiling. Remove from heat;
add gelatin and stir until dissolved. Pour into 2 cup mold; chill until
firm. Blend remaining ingredients. Spoon out center of jellied consomme,
leaving 1/2 inch on all sides. Fill center with meat mixture. Heat the
spooned out consomme till melted; pour over braunschweiger. Chill firm.
Unmold. Trim with slices of hard cooked egg. Use crackers as spreaders.
