Eggs; slightly beaten

Maraschino cherries; finely cut

INSTRUCTIONS
BAKE at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, then for 30 to 40 minutes. MAKES 3
dozen. Sift together the 1 cup flour with the confectioners' sugar. Cut n
butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press mixture firmly into
ungreased 11 x 7 or 9 x 9 inch pan. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 10
minutes. Sift together into mixing bowl 1/4 cup flour, sugar, baking
powder, and salt. Add eggs. Stir in maraschino cherries, coconut, and
walnuts. Spread over partially-baked mixture. Bake in moderate oven (350
degrees) 30 to 40 minutes. Cool; cut into bars. *For use with Pillsbury's
Best Self-Rising Flour, omit baking powder and salt.
