God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)
I make myself, in a host of ways, the center of the universe.

INSTRUCTIONS
I made this last Saturday to take to a get together at church. It is very
good and very rich. Every one liked them. I got it out of the "QUICK "n
EASY" Home Cooking from April 1997
In a mixer bowl, cream together margarine and brown sugar until light and
fluffy. Beat in flour and nuts. Set aside 1 cup of this mixture.
Press remaining mixture into bottom of ungreased 8x8x2-inch baking pan.
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 12 minutes.
Meanwhile, in medium mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese and sugar. Add
egg, milk, lemon juice and vanilla; beat well. Pour over baked layer in
baking pan. Sprinkle reserved flour mixture over top. Bake at 350 degrees
for 25 minutes. Cool; cut into bars. Store, covered, in the refrigerator.
Makes 2-3 dozen bars.
I doubled the recipe. I will make them again for special occasions.
