Name: Cinnamon Sauce
Ingredients: 1 c Packed dark brown sugar; 2 ts Cornstarch; 1 ts Ground cinnamon; 2 tb Butter -- or margarine; 2 ts Vanilla extract

There are, of course, those whom God has determined that He would never give new life to. Those who have committed the unpardonable sin, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:31), will not be regenerated. Those who have trampled under foot the blood of Christ (Hebrews 10:29), will not be regenerated. Those who have committed the sin unto death (I John 5:15-16) will not be regenerated. I do not pretend to know whether this is one, two or three distinct groups. I do know this – that those who fall under these texts do not come equipped with a signed affidavit letting us know for certain that they are guilty of this sin. As such, I don’t believe we can single out real flesh and blood people and determine – “That one is beyond redemption.”

INGREDIENTS

1	c	Packed dark brown sugar
2	ts	Cornstarch
1	ts	Ground cinnamon
2	tb	Butter — or margarine
2	ts	Vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS

1. In a sauce pan, combine brown sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon. Gradually
blend in 2 cups BOILING water. Cook, stirring constantly, until slightly
thickened. 2. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
Yield: 2-1/2 cups of sauce to serve over ice cream, baked bananas,
pineapples, and plain cakes.

The doctrine of concurrence affirms that God directs, and works through, the distinctive properties of each created thing, so that these things themselves bring about the results that we see. In this way it is possible to affirm that in one sense events are fully (100 percent) caused by God and fully (100 percent) caused by the creature as well. However, divine and creaturely causes work in different ways. The divine cause of each event works as an invisible, behind-the-scenes, directing cause and therefore could be called the 'primary cause' that plans and initiates everything that happens. But the created thing brings about actions in ways consistent with the creature’s own properties [which God unchangeably gave and sustains], ways that can often be described by us or by professional scientists who carefully observe the processes. These creaturely factors and properties can therefore be called the 'secondary' causes of everything that happens, even though they are the causes that are evident to us by observation (Wayne Grudem and Jeff Purswell).
