INGREDIENTS

| 1/2 | c | Sugar |
| 1/2 | c | Packed brown sugar |
| 2/3 | c | All-purpose flour |
| 1 | ts | Baking powder |
| 1/4 | ts | Salt |
| 1 | c | Chopped walnuts |
| 1 | c | Chopped dates |
| Whipped cream |
INSTRUCTIONS
In a mixing bowl, beat eggs. Gradually add sugars and beat until well mixed. Add combined dry ingredients; mix until moistened. Stir in nuts and dates. Pour into a greased 8x8 baking pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Torte top will be crusty and the inside chewy. Cut into squares and serve with a dollop of whipped cream. Makes 9 servings.
