I got this recipe from a friend at work in CA. I'm sure it has been banned
there since by Health Nuts. I changed the name from Three Layer Decadence
to Death by Chocolate since I think if anyone eats more than two bars in a
sitting, death will certainly result. With five sticks of butter and more
than a pound of chocolate in the recipe, it's not recommended for folks
with frail hearts!
First Layer: In top of double boiler melt butter and chocolate. Beat eggs
until fluffy. Fold in sugar. Stir in salt, vanilla and cooled chocolate.
Fold in flour. Pour into greased 9" X 13" pan. Bake at 350o for 25-30
minutes. Cool.
Second Layer: Cream butter. Combine pudding with milk and add to butter.
Continue beating while gradually adding sugar. Spread onto cooled first
layer and chill.
Third Layer: Melt chocolate and butter in double boiler. Spread onto second
layer. (Amounts of chocolate and butter may be changed proportionately)
