Put beans in a big pot with water and side meat. There should be enough
water to cover the ingredients. Add tomatoes, salt, sugar, and potaoes.
Simmer about 2 hours. Add more water if necessary. Ten minutes before
serving, add corn kernels. Serve in a bowl with the broth on a warm summer
day with hot biscuts, iced tea, and cantaloupe for dessert.
