Name: Divinity Fudge
Ingredients: 2 1/2 c Sugar; 1/2 c Water; hot; 1/2 c Corn syrup; white; 1/4 ts Salt; 1 ts Vanilla; 1/2 c Nut meats; 1/4 c Candied cherries; 1/4 c Candied pineapple

Let us consider what regard we ought to have to our own duty and to the grace of God. Some would separate these things as inconsistent. If holiness be our duty, they would say, there is no room for grace; and if it be the result of grace there is no place for duty. But our duty and God’s grace are nowhere opposed in the matter of sanctification; for one absolutely supposes the other. We cannot perform our duty without the grace of God; nor does God give His grace for any other purpose than that we may perform our duty!

INGREDIENTS

2 1/2	c	Sugar
1/2	c	Water; hot

INSTRUCTIONS

Put sugar, hot water, corn syrup into saucepan, heat slowly to
boiling, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Wipe down sugar crystals
from side of pan before syrup starts to boil. When syrup begins to
boil, beat egg whites with salt until foamy. Pour 2 T. of syrup on egg
whites and continue beating. Cook syrup to soft ball stage, 234 F.
Pout half syrup onto beaten egg whites very slowly and continue
beating.
Note: Doesn't say what to do with the other half of the syrup.
