(6 ounce) of chocolate chips (Nestle's works the best in this recipe) |

INSTRUCTIONS
Sift the flour, baking soda and salt together and set aside. Combine sugar,
shortening, and water in a medium saucepan. Heat and stirring constantly,
until sugar melts and mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in
chocolate pieces and vanilla until smooth. Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Stir in flour mixture and nuts. Spread evenly into a greased 9X9X2 inch
pan. Bake in at 325 degrees for approximately 30 minutes or until shiny and
firm on top. Remove from oven and sprinkle with amaretto (approximately 3
tablespoons) making sure to cover the top of brownies evenly. Cool
completely.
