INGREDIENTS

1 qt Peas or butter beans
1 1/2 qt Water, 1 1/2 to 2
Salt and pepper to taste
1 Piece salt meat or, 6 oz.
2 Ham hocks
1 Onion, chopped

INSTRUCTIONS

In a 4 to 6-quart pan, bring water and salt meat to boil. Add peas or
butter beans and chopped onions. Lower heat to medium and cover pot.
Cook 2 hours, until tender, but not mushy. During cooking time, more
salt and pepper or water may be added, if needed. Posted to
