INGREDIENTS

4 Green tomatoes; thickly sliced
1/2 c Yellow cornmeal
1/4 ts Salt
1 Ground black pepper
1/3 c Bacon drippings; oil; or shortening

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Dip the tomato slices in the cornmeal mixed with the salt and pepper. 2.
Heat the bacon drippings, oil, or shortening in a heavy skillet and saute
the slices in it quickly until browned on both sides.
