I was looking through a few cookbooks tonight, and found a recipe for Fried
Green Tomatoes in my "Good Housekeeping Cookbook". I have not tried this
recipe, but thought I would forward it to you.
About 30 minutes before serving:
In pie plate, combine flour, salt and pepper. Dip tomato slices in mixture
to coat both sides.
In large skillet over medium heat, in 1/4 cup hot salad oil, fry tomato
slices, a few at a time, until golden on both sides and heated through.
Drain on paper towels. Add more salad oil as needed. Makes 8 to 10
servings.
