INGREDIENTS

6 c Water
4 c Walnut halves
1/2 c Sugar
Vegetable oil
Seasoned salt

INSTRUCTIONS

Boil water in a 4 quart saucepan. Add walnuts. Return water to a boil and
cook 1 minute. Rinse nuts with hot water in a course sieve. Pour warm nuts
into a large bowl and gently stir in sugar until all of the sugar is
dissolved. Heat 2 inches of oil in a skillet to 300°. Add nuts and fry
until golden brown. Stir often. Drain in a course sieve. Add salt and cool
on a paper towel. If nuts are not crisp, place in a 250° oven for 1 minute.
Yield: 4 cups.
