(16oz) pear halves in syrup, undrained. |

INSTRUCTIONS
Drain pears, saving 3/4 cup syrup. Slice the pears lengthwise into wedges.
Set aside. Sprinkle chicken with salt. Brown chicken in butter in a med.
skillet over med. heat. Combine syrup, ginger ale, sugar, soy sauce, and
ginger: stir well. Pour over chicken, bring to a boil. Cover reduce heat
and simmer 25 minutes. Transfer chicken to a 9 inch square baking pan;
reserve liquid in skillet. Arrange pears around chicken. Combine cornstarch
and water, stiring until well blended. Add to liquid in skillet, stirring
well. Cook over med. heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Pour over
chicken and pears. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts, if desired. Bake,
uncovered at
350 for 10 minutes. Enjoy!
I know it looks like it would take along time but it is worth it, if
