SOAKING SOLUTION
I did not forget. Here is an old family recipe for lime pickles. This came
from my aunt who is in her 80's and says her grandmother made them. They are
very sweet and crisp.
Soak cukes in the lime and water mixture for 24 hours, stirring once in a
while. After the soaking rinse 3 times and let soak in cold water for 3
hours. After the 3 hours drain and let soak in the following solution for 24
hours.
After cukes stand in this solution for 24 hours simmer in the solution for
30 minutes then seal in jars while still hot.
I also put in water bath canner for about 15 minutes to assure a good seal.
These are the best pickles I've ever had.
