INSTRUCTIONS
Not only do I know of a recipe.... the town I live in, Greenville,Ohio has
one of the original Maid-Rite Restaurants..... always packed!! Here is the
recipe:
Put all ingredients onto a double boiler over med-high heat and steam until
done, pouring off the grease frequently. Stir often. The longer it steams
the better it tastes. Stir often. Steam your buns before serving.... and
slather on a generous dose of mustard, chopped onions and a couple pickle
slices...Enjoy.
Variations: Cheese-Rite... add a square of American cheese.
Big Jim ....... make a regular Maid-rite sandwich and top with a slice of
steamed deli baked ham!
These are not as good as the real thing..... for that you'll need to visit
our town..... and don't forget to add your wad of gum to the side of the
building! I know that sounds DISGUSTING.... but it's been a tradition for
years!
***** I like this sandwich tpped with a few chips!
