TOPPING
OVER ALL
TORTE Spread blueberries in an oblong pyrex dish. Pour lime OR lemon juice
over the berries. Cream butter and 3/4 cup sugar; add milk and mix well.
Add flour, which has been sifted with baking powder and salt. Gently spread
over berries. TOPPING Mix the 1 cup of sugar, cornstarch and salt. Sprinkle
over the dough. Pour boiling water over all. Bake at 375 degrees F for one
hour. SERVING Serve warm, plain, with ice cream or with whipped cream.
