Grains Casseroles, Side dishes, Beans, Crockpot 1 Servings

INGREDIENTS

1 lb Navy beans
1 ts Salt
2 ts Dry mustard
1/2 lb Bacon, sliced 1/4" thick
1/2 c Brown sugar, packed
1/4 c Molasses
1 md Onion, chopped
2 c Water, * see note

INSTRUCTIONS

* Use the water from boiling the beans
Wash beans and soak them overnight. Drain and add 6 cups water. Bring to a
boil and boil for 2 minutes. Drain and save cooking water. Put beans and 2
cups of water in crockpot. Add remaining ingredients.
Cook 10 hours on low or 4 hours on high. (Better if cooked slow. More water
from boiling beans can be added if they get dry.
Mom says they are done in less than 10 hours. (I think they take more like
12 hours. Who says Mom is always right?)
