I recently submitted a recipe for my father's biscotti. Here's my mom's
recipe. Obviously, we spend a lot of time in our family baking and eating
biscotti! It's been a staple in our family for over 30 years.
Cream butter, shortening, and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well
after each addition. Sift flour with baking powder; add alternately with
milk to first mixture. Mix in remaining ingredients. Add more flour if
necessary- batter should not be too soft. Spread in a 11"x17"x1/2" cookie
sheet. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven; cut into 1" wide
strips of desired length. Turn on sides and return to oven to toast
lightly. Makes a lot.
