Sift together flour, soda and spices; stir in nuts. Beat egg and add corn
syrup, sugar, lemon juice and rind and mix well. Stir in the flour mixture.
Divide the dough in half and turn out on greased and floured baking sheets.
Flatten dough with moistened hands to an 1/8 inch thickness. Bake in 400
degree oven 13-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and
brush with icing made with by mixing confectioners sugar and water. Cut
while still warm. Cover and store in a tightly fitting container.
