INGREDIENTS
1/3 | c | Quick-cooking oats |
1/3 | c | Blanched almonds, and/or |
walnuts | ||
2/3 | c | Reduced fat Bisquick |
3 | T | Liquid egg substitute |
3/4 | c | Skim milk |
6 | T | Low calorie pancake syrup |
INSTRUCTIONS
Place oats, nuts and bisquick in the bowl of a food processor fitted with a metal blade. Process to a medium-fine grain. Transfer to a mixing bowl. Add egg and milk to the mixing bowl and make a batter. Set aside. Heat the waffle iron. Stir the batter and thin if necessary with milk or water. Make 3 6-inch round waffles. Serve with syrup or try all-fruit. Tested 1998-Mar-29: Very tasty. This is a recipe we can play with. Next time try 1/2 cup bisquick and 2 rounded tablespoons of "grape nuts" bran buds cereal. Heated blueberries would make a good syrup.
