INSTRUCTIONS
1. Combine granulated and brown sugars, butter, eggs and vanilla in a
large mixing bowl. Beat with an electric mixer at medium speed,
scraping the sides of the bowl often, until light and fluffy, about 2
to 3 minutes.
2. Add flour, oats, baking soda and salt. Beat at low speed, scraping
sides of bowl often, until well-mixed, about 2 to 3 minutes. By hand,
stir in candy and peanuts. Drop dough by scant 1/4-cupfuls 2 inches
apart onto greased cookie sheets.
3. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven until light golden brown,
about 14 to 18 minutes.
Served at the Chicago 1996 Democratic National Convention.
