INSTRUCTIONS
HARD SAUCE
Use a 6 to 7 cup tower mold.
In large mixing bowl mix bread with milk soak about 3 minutes. Stir to
break up. Stir in shortening, brown sugar, egg, orange juice, and vanilla.
Add raisins, candied fruits, nuts, and currants. Combine dry ingredients
and add to fruit mixture, stir until combined. Turn mixture into tower
mold. Cover with foil. Place on rack in deep kettle. Add boiling water to
depth of 1-inch. Water should not touch mold. Cover kettle, boil gently and
steam 4 hours or until done. Cool 10 minutes before unmolding. Serve with
hard sauce.
Hard Sauce: In medium mixing bowl cream butter, 1 cup of powdered sugar,
whipping cream, lemon peel, and vanilla on medium speed. Add remaining
powdered sugar. Beat until smooth spoon or pipe mixture around plum
pudding. ThePoet102
