INGREDIENTS

1 3/4 c Flour
1/2 c Sugar
3/4 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
1/4 ts Baking soda
1/2 c Butter
1 Egg
2 tb Milk
1 ts Orange peel
1/2 ts Vanilla
2/3 c Chopped dates

INSTRUCTIONS

Combine all dry ingredients. Cut in butter, add dates. Combine all
liquids, beat slightly to break up the egg, & add to dry ingredients.
Gently shape dough into a ball; place on floured board & pat into a
large circle about 1/2" thick. Cut into wedges, place on baking sheet
& bake at 350 about 15 to 20 minutes.
