INSTRUCTIONS
Butter 2 cookie sheets (15 1/2 X 12); keep warm. Mix baking soda, 1 tsp
water and vanilla; reserve. Mix sugar, 1 cup water and corn syrup in 3 qt
saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, to 240F on candy
thermometer. Stir in margarine and peanuts. Stir constantly, to 300F.
Watch carefully so mixture doesn't burn. Remove from heat; stir in baking
soda mixture. Pour half of mixture on each cookie sheet and QUICKLY spread
about 1/4 in thick; cool. Break into pieces. About 6 doz. candies; 70
calories per candy.
