INGREDIENTS

1/2 c Soy sauce
6 ts Brown sugar
1 ts Dry sherry
2 ts Scallions; chopped
1 ts Fresh cilantro; chopped
1 ts Freshly grated ginger
1 ts Garlic; minced
1/2 ts Hot pepper sauce
4 New York strip steaks; about 8 oz. Each

INSTRUCTIONS

Combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, sherry, scallions, cilantro, ginger,
garlic and hot pepper sauce in a mixing bowl. Add the steaks and marinate
several hours or overnight. When ready to cook, drain the steaks from the
marinade and reserve 1/2 cup of the marinade. Place the reserved marinade
in a small saucepot and bring the sauce to a full boil. Then remove from
the heat. Meanwhile, grill or broil the steaks to the desired doneness.
Serve the steaks with the sauce. Serves 4.
